Mechanical Clock

MEAM 101 Final Project

For the final project of the “Introduction To Mechanical Design” class, my partner and I created a fully functioning gravitationally driven, mechanical pendulum clock made primarily of acrylic. The weights attached to the design caused a force on one of the gears, which in turn caused the rest of them to rotate. The pendulum was added to ensure a constant time per revolution of the driving gear, and hence we were able to accurately keep track of time for upto (approximately) 12 hours, at which point the weight would have to be back to the starting point.
